The Rescue

When I was a TAT contractor, I had irritated Terry, because as usual I couldn’t keep my big mouth shut. So the Emergency Response Section had to send a representative to a symposium on the new SARA Title III regs. None of the OSCs wanted to go and since I was in the doghouse, Terry made me go. After a couple of days of suffering through boredom Chris Weden showed up at the symposium and told me there was a response and I was the only TAT available and we had to go. I was never so grateful for a response. As we left the EPA building we made a left and then turned into the Thirsty Bear. And there sitting at the bar was Terry and the other OSCs who all started laughing at me, with Terry laughing the loudest and wanting to know if I had learned my lesson and would keep my big mouth shut in the future. Whether you were an OSC or a contractor you could always count on Terry to provide that life learning lesson and to have your back. He was the greatest Section Chief in the history of Region 9 ERS.
