The Round Table
For many years the Emergency Response Section had a large round table which was definitely considered “unconventional” in the EPA office. It did not conform to the standard rat-maze floor plans.
We gathered around it most mornings to start the day sharing info, gossip, drinking coffee, and formulating strategies for overcoming the hurdles thrown in our paths by outside forces. Apparently, its existence bugged the shit out of some people because our “space planners” were always trying to get rid of it. Terry successfully fought them tooth and nail to keep it.
He always knew what mattered.
